NTLDR is missing- Error Solution

Some time computer shows error of (NTLDR is missing) When you start your computer some time you receive the message “NTLDR is missing”. The main reason if this message is that the Windows boot loader cannot be found. This often came if you are trying to boot from CD or DVD that is not a boot disk. If not, it means that the boot loader file has been lost or corrupted.

Solution

Method 1

1. Disconnect any removable drives, and check that there are no CDs or DVDs in the CD/DVD.
2. Check Power and data cable of your hard drive.
3. Check your hard drive is showing full capacity. In biose.

Restart Your Computer.

If this does not resolve the problem, try Method 2.

Method 2

The Windows 2000 and Windows XP CDs supplied by Microsoft have a tool called the Recovery Console which can be used to repair errors that prevent Windows XP from starting using the command line. OEM versions of Windows XP, including computers that were supplied with Windows XP preinstalled, may not have this utility.

1. Insert the Windows CD and start the computer.
2. When the Welcome to Setup screen appears, press R.
3. Type a number corresponding to the Windows installation you wish to repair (usually 1) and press Enter.
4. When prompted, type the administrator password and press Enter.
5. From the command prompt, copy NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM from the i386 folder of the CD to the root folder of the hard drive. In the example commands given below, C: is the hard drive and D: is the CD-ROM drive. You will need to change the drive letters if appropriate:
   COPY D:\I386\NTLDR C:\
   COPY D:\I386\NTDETECT.COM C:\
6. Remove the Windows XP CD from the drive and restart the computer.
